Teamwork makes the Dream Work

We will build a shared vision of community agreements and expectations. Then move through an activity that reveals the attributes of effective teams which will lead to a set of shared expectations for our Youth Movement program for the next 6 months. Our goal for this workshop is to demonstrate that “WE” can accomplish far more “working together” than we can “working by ourselves.”

Having a Gratitude Attitude &Captain Encouragement

We will define Gratitude and Attitude and discuss the impact that a positive and negative attitude has on individuals, groups and our community. We will also review strategies that we can use to stay positive. Our group project will be to draw a Super Hero who possess the power to encourage others. Groups will share their superhero and special features with the community. Our goal for this workshop is to help youth realize the importance of having a positive attitude and the impact his has on self as well as others.

Anger Management

In this workshop we will discuss strategies on how to deal with conflict. We will also discuss and practice saying “NO” to things that may compromise our character or get us into trouble. As we practice how to say “NO” we will discuss what we are actually saying “YES” to as well. We will have discussion as well as do some role plays in our Anger Management Workshop. Our goal for this workshop is teach our youth not to HATE but to COOPERATE!

What you See is what you will Be

Our focus for this workshop is discussing the importance of seeing yourself as resource. We will talk about our bodies gate keepers;
Eye Gates – You are what you See
Mouth Gates – You are what you Say
Ear Gates – You are what you Hear
Our goal for this workshop is for all youth to realize that they are their greatest resource.
